Lacquered Lover on Lifestyle Mirror Equality Now Red Beauty Post featuring Butter London Knees Up!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Wednesday to you all!  I hope you are having a lovely week so far!  I wanted to share with you all an article that I was lucky enough to be a part of yesterday!  As you might know, here in the US, the Supreme Court is currently hearing 2 cases about the right to gay marriage in this country.  To show support, many people have been wearing red yesterday and today (If you check out my instagram @lacqueredlover you can see what I'm wearing and a few of my favorite lipsticks!)  When the fabulous Philip Picardi from the website Lifestyle Mirror asked me for my favorite red nail polish to be included in an article about beauty bloggers, favorite reds, I had to be involved!

I was so excited to be among some of my favorite beauty bloggers!  Now what was my pick for my favorite red nail polish?

The fabulous Butter London Knees Up!  This bright, shimmery red is simply gorgeous and perfect for any occasion!  I adore red nails, for years it was one of the only colors I would wear and it still holds a place dear to my heart.  Whether for nail art or on its own, Knees Up is just a beautiful shade!  Plus it's one of the first Butter London nail polishes I ever bought!

Stay tuned later to see what some of my other favorite red nail polishes and lipsticks are!  If  you want to read the full Lifestyle Mirror article about beauty bloggers favorite red products, click HERE!

What do you think of this polish?  What's your favorite red?

Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Ore Swatches and Review!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Friday!  I hope you're having a lovely day so far!  It's almost the weekend here in NY!  Today, I want to share a gorgeous pigment by Illamasqua with you!  I just recently started trying their makeup products instead of just hoarding their nail polish and so far, I'm loving it all!

Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Ore comes in a small container (that's really hard to open by the way, I have to slide a nail under the corner and then be careful to not fling it everywhere) because there is only 0.04 oz of product in there.  However a little bit goes a LONG way with this!

Above:  Top is Ore dry over primer, bottom is Ore wet over primer

How amazing is this color?  Dry over primer it's like a fine glitter, wet it's like liquid metal.  This bronze shade has the tiniest hint of brown and red undertones and it's simply stunning.  It was really pigmented and super easy to use with minimal fall out, although I did have to clear some glitter off my face.  Here's how I wore it:

For this look I first used Primer and then with a dry brush patted Ore onto my eyelids.  Then I used the Urban Decay Naked Palette for the crease and up to the eyebrows.  I used the white from the Sephora Disney Jasmine palette for the inner crease and brow bone.  I topped it all off with Illamasqua Precision eyeliner in Ink on the top, Urban Decay black eyeliner on the bottom and Illamasqua Mascara.

My lips are OCC NSFW.  So, what did you think of this look?  Do you love it as much as I do?  Illamasqua  Pure Pigments are available at Sephora for $24.00 each and I definitely want more in my life!

Zoya Pixie Dust Collection for Spring 2013 Swatches and Review!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Friday!  I hope you are all having a wonderful week and have some good weekend plans coming up!  Today, I have one of my favorite collections from 2013 to show you!

The Zoya Pixie Dust Collection is made up of 6 different shades of matte glitter that dry to a gritty texture.  If you were following my NYFW feeds, you saw I was wearing them virtually every day!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above:  2 coats of Zoya Chyna

Chyna is by far the most sparkly of this collection and that's because there are extra red glitters in it!  I love how it's matte but kind of shiny at the same time.  It reminds me of a sparkly fruit for some reason.  The formula on this one was great, a bit thick however easy to use and just 2 coats for full opacity!

 Above:  2 coast of Dahlia

Dahlia didn't want to play nice with my camera but I think it's my favorite of the collection.  Dahlia is a jet black full of silver glitters that gives it almost a charcoal appearance.  The formula was great, opaque in 2 coats and minimal dragging.

Above:  2 coats of Godiva

Now you guys know me, I'm not a nude polish kinda girl but this is a nude I can get behind because it's so interesting!  This is a light beige, slightly yellow leaning nude pixie dust.  It has the same gritty texture and look as the rest but something about it is just so interesting!  The formula was a bit thick so I found two thin coats worked best.

Above:  2 coats of Zoya London

London is amazing because it looks like sparkly pavement to me and I love that!  This medium grey has some silver glitter to it but the formula really does make it look like asphalt.  The formula was great on this one, opaque in 2 coats and easy to use!

 Above:  2 coats of Nyx

Nyx is a pretty cornflower blue that is a bit on the thin side.  I only used two coats and you can definitely see visible nail line so this one should be layered or worn with at least three coats.  The color is really pretty and it's very sparkly!

Above:  2 coats of Vespa

Lastly is Vespa, a light grassy green shade of pixie dust.  This is a really interesting color and I love it for Spring!  It's very light but doesn't look bad on my skin tone because it's not too yellow.  The formula was good, opaque in 2 coats and easy to use.

All in all, I really love the pixie dust polishes.  I love the gritty finish but like that it's not so gritty that I find it catching on things or scratching me! The glitter mixed into it gives it a really interesting look and they are just so fun!  Here are a few more looks I did with them:

Above:  Zoya Chyna with an accent of Dahlia
Above:  Zoya Dahlia with Nyx layered over everything but the ring finger

The Zoya Pixie Dust collection is now available on their website and wherever Zoya is sold for $8 a bottle!

What did you think of these polishes? Must have? Any dupes?

LUSH Cosmetics Union Square and a peek at the Gorilla Perfume and Easter Products! And Nail Art!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Thursday to you all!  Today, I have a really fun post to share with you!  I was lucky enough yesterday to be invited to the Union Square LUSH store to check out their new Gorilla Perfumes as well as their Easter products (which are adorable.)  I have a ton of cute pics so now, without further ado, on to the goodies!

Above:  The adorable Easter Display made by Victoria and John

Above:  The Immaculate Eggception

This bath bomb is so cute!  You crack it against the wall and inside are either a chick or a bunny bath bomb! You get three uses out of it!  I seriously can't wait to try this, it smells amazing!

 Above:  Henata

Henata is a pinata but shaped like a Hen!  You smash this against the side of your tub and there are treats like flower petal confetti and all sorts of fun stuff inside!  Plus it smells delicious.

Above:  Fluffy Egg

Fluffy Egg is a bath bomb that seriously smells like candy!  It smells like the inside of a candy store and I love that it's pink and a little shimmery!

 Above:  Carrot top Bubble Bar

This adorable carrot shaped bubble bar is something that you can swirl in your bathtub to make bubbles and lasts for 7-10 baths!  That's pretty awesome!  Plus it smells like lemons!

Above:  The Brightside

This is a new product that you can crumble underneath your running tap and turns your water pretty shades of orange and makes bubbles!

above:  5 of the 8 new Gorilla Perfume Fragrances

Gorilla Perfume is sold only at a few LUSH stores and online.  What is so interesting about these is that each one has a reason and a story behind it!  It was described to me as being "art for the nose" which sounds kind of strange but if you smelled how complex these were and read the stories, you'd understand it!  They were all so different, one smelled like a wood burning stove, another like an orange, yet another like cumin.  I just loved it!  Here's what I ended up with:

 Above:  Packaging

Above:  Tissue Paper in the packaging

Above:  My new bottle of Euphoria

Euphoria is a lovely scent, nice, clean and a hint of fruit with lime and grapefruit.  For someone like me who is sensitive to smells, it's great because it's not too strong but just ripe and playful!  The scent lasts about 6 hours on me.

Now, while talking with the lovely store manager Victoria about my nail blog, we decided I had to do nail art based on my evening!  So here is the inspiration:

And my final product:

Can you guess which one is which?

All of the products in this post (except for my nail polish art) are currently available at the LUSH online store and be sure to check a store near you!  I will definitely be going back to pick up a few more items!

What did you think of these products?  Anything you want to try?  What's your favorite LUSH product?
