Day 6 Featuring CND Plum Truffle Duo

Good morning Lacquered Lovers! I'm sorry that this post is finding you a day late! I will have another post later today for Day 7, but I wanted to give you guys my review of a new set by one of my favorite brands! So now, without further ado, on to the polish!





CND released the Plum Truffle Duo as part of their holiday collection for 2011. Recently they have been releasing two colors at a time, a cream with a matching color effect. Now I LOVE the color effects. I own at least 10 of them and they are so awesome for adding a little extra something to a polish!

CND Plum Truffle is the cream of this collection. Plum Truffle is a really pretty cool toned berry color. I love that this isn't too red and therefore turns into a "pink" but really stays in that berry and wine family. The formula was perfect, virtually opaque in one coat but I put on a second coat just to get full opacity and make sure there were no bald spots. I really love how pigmented this color is and how rich it looks on the nails!






So to top off the lovely Plum Truffle, I used one coat of CND Plum Truffle Sparkle. I actually really like that the sparkle color effect is much lighter than the cream it comes with! Plum Truffle Sparkles is a light pink, micro sparkle in a sheer pinkish base. I'll have to try to layer it over white to see how much of the sheer base comes through but as it stands, it's a perfect compliment to Plum Truffle. Maybe it's just me but this seems a bit more scattered of a sparkle than some of the other color effects, but this polish will be great for those who don't like reds during the holiday season.

All in all, CND never disappoints me with their formula. Their polishes are top quality and I love the idea of the color effects that help to enhance a cream color. I look forward to seeing more duos from them in the future!

Day 5 featuring Glitter Gal Green 3D Holo Swatches

Good evening Lacquered Lovers! Just a quick post tonight to show you my manicure today and keep up with my challenge! Forgive me if it's not perfect, I'm posting from my phone! So now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Glitter Gal Green is amazing! So stunning in the sun! Look how holographic this is! I am officially obsessed.

I will do a full review of this soon but I just wanted to share my Holo goodness with you all! Hope you're having a fabulous weekend!

Day 4 Featuring Wet N Wild Cost Is No Issue

Happy Friday my fellow Lacquered Lovers! I hope you are all gearing up for a lovely November weekend! Today I have Day 4 of my 30 Days of Untrieds challenge! I was feeling like I needed some sparkle in my life so today's polish is another of the Wet N Wild Color Icon Ice Baby collection! So now, without further ado, on to the polish!

This color is BRIGHT! Cost is No Issue is a bright aqua micro glitter in a clear base that has scatterd bright blue, slightly larger glitter throughout. It looks like my nails are glowing! It took three coats in order to get this color opaque, but you could certainly layer it over an aqua or even a white if you want to use less coats! I personally just love that glitter jammed look! As you can see, I have some glitter jumpers on my fingers which is really hard to get off, but I'm sure once I take off my polish tonight they will all disappear! This also requierd two coats of Seche Vite Top Coat in order to get rid of most of the texture and to make the nails shiny because this glitter definitely eats nail polish! Day 3 Featuring CHANEL Black Pearl and Deborah Lippmann I Love The Nightlife

Good afternoon my fellow Lacquered Lovers! Today we will continue the journey through my untrieds! I used two fabulous nail polishes and officially created the most expensive manicure I have ever worn! One is brand new and one is an older color, so now, without further ado, on to the polish!

CHANEL Black Pearl is a gorgeous charcoal grey shimmer. Or maybe it's gunmetal. Does anyone know the difference between the two? Anyway, Black Pearl is packed with micro shimmer that leans to the green side as you can see in the macro shot. It's absolutely stunning. This color is so pigmented. The formula was a bit more thick than I've noticed on other CHANEL polish but certainly not enough to give you any trouble. It was perfectly opaque in two coats and the shimmer is just stunning!

I was already swooning when I put this on my nails, but then I just had to try one of the new Deborah Lippmann Holiday Collection polishes!






So I decided to add an accent nail of Deborah Lippmann's I Love The Nightlife. I Love the Nightlife is a dark grey, almost mirror like hexagonal sequin glitter suspended in a clear base. What you see above on my thumb and ring finger is two coats over Black Pearl. I will do a full review of this polish soon, but I think it's an awesome finish and matched perfectly with Black Pearl! So there you have it! I was lucky to get Black Pearl in a swap but it normally costs $25 at department stores or directly from CHANEL and I Love the Nightlife is out now and costs $18 per bottle.

30 Days of Untrieds - Day 2: SpaRitual Running With Wolves

Good Afternoon my fellow Lacquered Lovers! Welcome back to 30 days of untried polishes! Today I have a special treat. My amazing Mom (Hi Mom!) who has been incredibly supportive of my blog bought me a present! While she and my dad were on vacation in Arizona, they went to get massages at the Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain Salon. While there, my mom spotted some nail polish and called to ask if I had ever tried SpaRitual polishes which I hadn't! My mom was chatting with the lovely Cindy who worked there and helped my mom pick out 4 minis for me. Once my mom told her about my blog, she threw in a full size bottle for free! So now, without further ado, on to the polish!









Ah Running with Wolves. This color is stunning! I'm in love. Running With Wolves is a perfect copper shimmer. It literally looks like I melted down pennies and dipped my nails in it! The formula on this was outstanding, fully opaque in two coats, no real brush strokes that are visible once it dries. This is one of those beautiful lit from within colors that just seems to glow on the nails! I'm generally not a big bronze/copper person but this one is just stunning. I also love that the bottle was easy to hold and has a rubberized top for easy gripping! It made painting my nails so easy!

SpaRitual is generally sold in spas although you can find them online. They generally run for $5 for a mini bottle or $10 for a full size. I highly recommend them! Their polishes are also vegan and cruelty free, so they are great for everyone! I honesty can't wait to try more!

30 Days of Untrieds - Day 1: Wet N Wild Believe Me, It's Real

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers! I hope you all had a fabulous Halloween! Can you believe that it's November already? Crazy! It seems like just yesterday it was summer time! To commemorate the start of a new month, the lovely Taylor of Nailed To The T had a brilliant idea. As all nail polish hoarders like myself know, we all have many, many untrieds! Polishes that fell through the cracks or we haven't gotten around to yet that need to be shown some love! So, for the next 30 days, the idea is to wear a different polish every day! I will still be showing you guys collections and fun stuff, but this is a great way for me to get through a good chunk of my collection!



First up, I have a polish from the new Wet N Wild Ice Ice Baby Collection. These polishes are a Walgreens exclusive and are really pretty amazing! So now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Glitter bomb! Believe Me, It's Real is a royal blue micro glitter that's infused with slightly larger deep purple round glitter. I love this color. It's so intense and vibrant! Now, it did take me 3 coats of polish to get it fully opaque (and you can see that at the tips it's not quite opaque but that's just due to the nature of glitter) but beware! This polish is a top coat eater! It took THREE coats of top coat to mostly smooth out the polish and make it shiny! The polish itself dries almost matte, so you better make sure to have your thickest top coat handy when trying this one! I love how unique this polish is, I definitely have no dupes and it looks like a party on my nails!
