Lacquered Lover and Londontown!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Monday to you all!  I hope you all had a lovely and relaxing weekend!  Today, before I head off to work, I wanted to share with you some exciting news in my life.  As some of you may recall, a few months ago I started a new job.  Now at the time, I couldn't really reveal too much as it is at a start up company and we hadn't officially launched yet but as of last week, that has changed.  Today, I'm proud to introduce my lovely readers to the company I'm working for, LONDONTOWN.

LONDONTOWN is an innovative and holistic approach to nail care that I am happy to be a part of!  At LONDONTOWN, we use a family remedy that the founder, Natasha Dillon, learned from her Grandmother in England as a child and has now revamped for the 21st century.  All of the products use oils and extracts to help to hydrate the nails and cuticles and make sure that your hands and nails are strong, healthy and look great.  The nail hardener and protective top coat are 5-free, the restorative nail cream is paraben free, the strengthening lacquer remover is acetone free and all of our products are vegan, cruelty-free and gluten-free!

Being a nail polish blogger I'm always one for skin and nail care and was thrilled when I found out the products actually worked!  My hands and nails are in great shape and even the boyfriend loves how the cream and oil smell!  Every day I'm still amazed that I get to wake up and go to work at a company in the nail world!

I started this blog last May as a way of getting back into the habit of writing and sharing my love of nail polish with the world.  Never in my wildest dreams did I believe it would help lead to a new job in a field I love!  It just goes to show you that hard work and determination work and I'm so grateful to be able to see this company from the ground up and to hopefully help it grow!  As of the end of last week, you can see all of our products for nail care at LondontownUSA and be sure to follow our Facebook (giveaway coming soon!) , Twitter, Pinterest and our Instagram is LondontownUSA.  I can't wait to see where this journey leads me next!

Priti NYC Yacht Week in Croatia Collection for Fall 2012 Swatches and Review!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Wednesday to you all!  I hope you are having a lovely week so far.  Today, I have a fun new Fall collection to show you!

The Priti NYC Yacht Week in Croatia Collection consists of 4 beautiful creme polishes for Fall.  I first found out about this brand this past Spring and was really impressed with their interesting color choices.  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above:  2 coats of Irish Molly

First up is Irish Molly, a milk chocolate brown shade that's perfect for Fall.  I love seeing a lighter brown that's still rich and beautiful.  The formula was good, opaque in two coats and easily applied.

Above:  2 coats of Painter's Palette

Painter's Palette is a gorgeous deep plum creme.  I love how rich and vibrant this shade is!  The color is just so deep and I love shades like this in the Fall and Winter.  The formula was great, opaque in 2 coats and lots of pigment.

Above:  2 coats of Sea Holly

Sea Holly is a gorgeous darkened teal.  I love teals and this one is more blue than green which is really gorgeous.  I love the midnight look to it and how the bit of green softens it.  The formula was great, opaque in 2 coats and very pigmented.

Above:  2 coats of Stonecrop

Stonecrop was a really interesting addition to a Fall Collection.  Stonecrop is a bright lime green that's just shy of being neon.  Even though it's not the best shade on my skin tone, I kinda love it!  It's a great pop of bright in a dark Fall collection.  The formula was good, opaque in two coats and easy to use.

All in all, I liked these polishes!  It's a good fall collection and I especially love the deep Sea Holly and Painter's Palette.  The bright addition of Stonecrop was interesting in a darker collection but somehow, it all works together!  Priti NYC polishes are $13.50 each on their website

Zoya Ornate Collection for Holiday 2012 Swatches and Review!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Monday to you all!  I have a big treat in store for you today!  Some of you may remember seeing my first sneak peek at the Zoya Ornate Collection from the Rafael Cennamo show during NYFW!  They looked amazing!

Today, I have the entire collection to show you!  The Zoya Ornate Collection was just released for the holidays and it is stunning!  Now without further ado, on to the polish!

 Above:  2 coats of Aurora

Aurora is a gorgeous deep purple full of red undertones.  The consistency is almost jelly like and it's full of holographic glass flecks.  It's gorgeous!  I've never seen a polish with holographic glass flecks before and they are simply stunning.  Even though it was a jelly consistency, the polish had a great formula and was opaque in 2 coats!

 Above:  2 coats of Blaze

Blaze is a deep raspberry full of glass fleck holographic particles.  Amazing!  It's so rich and vibrant and the holographic flecks give it really a stunning touch in the sun!  The formula was great, opaque in 2 coats and really easy to use.

Above:  2 coats of Zoya Electra

While bar glitter is not my thing, I was amazed that Electra only took 2 coats to be pretty much opaque!  Electra is a clear base full of tiny silver holographic bar glitter.  I've never seen a bar glitter that covers this well!

Above:  2 coats of Zoya Logan

Logan is a stunning hunter green with lighter green and gold shimmer to it.  It has that glass fleck/foil look that Zoya does so well (see Charla for example.)  It's so christmasy and beautiful for winter time!  The formula was great, opaque in two coats and so vibrant!

Above:  2 coats of Zoya Storm

Storm is a black jelly like base full of holographic glass fleck particles.  It is just as amazing as it sounds!  It looks like outer space on your nails!  The formula is fantastic, opaque in two coats and simply stunning.

Above:  2 coats of Ziv

Zoya Ziv is amazing!  Ziv is a warm, almost true gold foil that has tiny little flecks of darker gold to it giving it a beautiful foil finish.  I own a lot of gold polishes and honestly don't think I have a dupe for this!  The formula was great, opaque in two coats and easy to apply!

All in all, I am in love with this collection!  Foils, flecks, holographic, there is something for the nail polish lover in everyone!  I love that they used traditional holiday colors but gave them an interesting twist with jellies and holographic flecks!  The Ornate Collection is now available wherever Zoya is sold for $8 each.

Color Club In True Fashion Fall 2012 Collection Swatches and Review!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Friday to you all!  I apologize for the lack of posts this week, been super busy with work and just celebrated my 3 year anniversary yesterday with the boyfriend!  Today, I have a gorgeous Fall collection to show you all:

I'm having way too much fun with these collages lately!  The Color Club In True Fashion Collection consists of 12 shades that were released for Fall 2012.  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above:  2 coats of By Design

By Design is a deep, pink based plum creme.  This polish looks super rich and pigmented for Fall!  The formula was a bit thin but 2 coats pretty much evened it out to be fully opaque!

 Above:  2 coats of Editorial

I was trying to show off the duo chrome properties of this polish, hence all the pictures!  Editorial is yet another Chanel Peridot Dupe and it's just as beautiful as all the others!  This is a gold to green duo chrome with the slightest bit of brush strokes.  The formula was good, opaque in two coats and if you don't already have a version (or 5) of this one, I recommend it!

Above:  2 coats of Fashion Moment

Fashion Moment is a very dark blackened purple creme.  At first, I honestly wasn't sure if this was black, brown or purple and I kind of love that about it!  It's dark and mysterious for Fall!  The formula was a bit thin, you can see some of the patchiness on my pinkie nail but 3 coats should even that out!

Above:  2 coats of First Looks

First Looks is a beautiful blackened navy base full of lighter blue shimmer.  I adore this one!  It looks like it's lit from within and that the blue shimmer just glows from the center.  It's stunning!  The formula was good on this one, opaque in two coats and just beautiful.

Above:  2 coats of In The Limelight

In The Limelight is somewhere between a cobalt and a periwinkle blue creme.  There are definitely hints of purple to it and it's not as dark as a cobalt but has the same vibrancy.  I adore it!  I also love that this looks like it belongs in more of a Spring collection so that makes it unique.  The formula was good, opaque in two coats!

Above:  2 coats of Look Book

Look Book is a bright red creme that definitely has some pink to it.  The color is bright and fun for Fall and surprised me in a Fall collection which I loved!  The formula was good, opaque in 2 coats!

Above:  2 coats of Model Behavior

Model Behavior is a copper/bronze shimmer with a ton of orange to it!  It's so warm and inviting, definitely reminds me of leaves on an Autumn day!  The formula was good, opaque in two coats and lots of pigment to this one.

 Above:  2 coats of Muse-ical

Muse-ical is a deep, dark grey creme with a hint of green to it.  It kind of reminds me of NARS Storm Bird.  I love greys so I loved this one!  The formula was a bit thick on this one but two coats had it perfectly opaque.

Above:  3 coats of Personal Stylist

There was a hint of purple to this one so I was hoping for a duo chrome but the effect didn't really show on the nail.  Regardless, Personal Stylist is a beautiful vibrant bright blue shimmer.  The formula was kind of thin so it took me three coats for full opacity but it's a really pretty color so I can overlook that!

Above:  3 coats of Port Folio

I've seen this described as a duo chrome but I don't think it is is, I just think that the base is purple and the shimmer is green but either way, I love it!  Port-Folio is a medium blue based purple base full of light green shimmer.  If the Incredible Hulk was a nail polish, this would be it!  It's really interesting to see two such contrasting shades together!  The formula was a bit thin so it took 3 coats of full opacity.

Above:  2 coats of Show Time

Show Time is a deep charcoal grey full of tiny silver glitter.  I love it!  It's so festive and fun but still dark and vampy!  The formula was a bit thin, this was only 2 coats and I could have benefited from a third!

Above:  2 coats of Style Icon

Style Icon is a darker red creme.  The bottle makes it look darker than it ends up on the nail.  I love that it's deep for Fall but still vibrant enough to not be vampy!  The formula was good, opaque in two coats.

All in all, I liked this collection for Fall!  It's a good mix of standard cremes, a glitter, some duo chromes and beautiful shimmers.  Virtually all of the colors were colors I would wear and while some of them needed three coats, the formulas were good.  The Color Club In True Fashion Collection should be available now wherever Color Club is sold!
