My Birthday Manicure and Makeup Featuring Enchanted Polish, Urban Decay and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Thursday to you all!  This is a very happy Thursday as I happen to turn 28 today!  I figured I would share with you guys the super fun manicure and makeup I'm rocking today!  First up is the nail polish which the lovely Chelsea from Enchanted Polish was kind enough to send me to review so stay tuned for that soon!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

I decided to do a swap manicure because we all know I have trouble with having all my nails be one color!  The Time to Pretend Collection is all multichrome holographic polishes that are just gorgeous!  I used Kids, which shifts from turquoise/blue/copper/purple, and Time to Pretend which shifts from purple/blue/red/copper.  The holographic effect is super strong and can be seen even in indirect light!  Basically, I'm obsessed with these.  Here are some macro bottle shots for your viewing pleasure:

Now, for my makeup, I knew I wanted bright pink lips and my fab Sarah Potempa Beachwaver hair so I pulled out some of my favorite products!

I used my favorite OCC Lip Tar in Anime for my lips and my eyes are all Urban Decay with eyeliner in Deep End on the bottom for a pop of color!  I figured I wanted something fun and bright but that I could still wear to work!

So there you have it, my birthday hair, makeup and nail looks!  What do you all think?

Some of the products in this post were sent to me for my unbiased review. Please see my disclosure policy for more information.

Guest Post by Christopher Box of Hair Extension Geek All About Hair Extensions!!!

Good evening my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Wednesday to you all!  Tonight, I have a really special post for you all!  As some of you may have seen, during NYFW I had the very amazing opportunity to get hair extension!  I had met a fabulous stylist, Christopher Box, while backstage at a show in February.  When he was coming back for Fashion Week in September, he asked if I'd like to try out some great tape in hair extensions from Easihair Pro.  Since cutting off my hair last year I've been missing my long locks so I jumped at the chance!  You can read all about my adventure at Lacquered Lover Gets EasiHair Pro Extension for NYFW!

I absolutely love them!  Since then I've gotten a ton of questions from you guys all across my social media (as well as questions from everyone who has seen me in person) about the extensions.  Who better to tell you about them than the man who did them?  Now, without further ado, I give you Christopher Box!

I met Carly at NYFW last season behind the scenes of Porter Gray. I was there supporting easihair pro extensions. You wouldn't believe how much extensions are used on the models of Fashion Week!

Carly was super cool and gave me some fab suggestions on restaurants in NYC. We swapped some conversation about her blog and mine: www.hairextensiongeek.com. She gave me her card and when I got back I checked out her blog site: www.lacqueredlover.com. I loved her style and I realized immediately that our sites were very much related. In my opinion, nails are extensions too!

Flash forward to Fally 2012: I was green lighted from easihair pro to do some makeovers on some beauty bloggers while back in town for New York Fashion Week. Carly was the first person that popped into my mind. I knew she would be perfect for easilengths tape hair extensions.

I got her scheduled and ended up applying the extensions in a teeny tiny tic tac sized hotel room. She was a great sport about the cramped space. I think maybe the wine helped a little. When I got done I was in love with her big sexy hair. She really knows how to carry the look well. A lot of what makes something work is the attitude behind it.

I realized when I got done doing Carly's hair extension makeover that she probably would be getting lots and lots of questions about her new look. That's why when I got back to Hair Extension Geek Headquarters I went through our archives and put together my top 10 Favorite Hair Extension Blog Posts.

Lacquered Lover Gets Easihair Pro Hair Extensions for NYFW!

Good morning my fellow Lacquered Lovers!  Happy Saturday!  Today, I have a really special post for you!  As some of you might remember, about a year ago, I cut 14 inches off my hair to donate to the charity Locks of Love.  Fast forward to February NYFW and I met a fantastic stylist named Christopher Box who was there styling for the Parker Grey show!  I was a little lost as it was one of the first shows I ever attended so Chris and his awesome team were hanging out with me and we hit it off!  Fast forward to this week and in preparation for the NYFW shows this week, Chris very kindly offered to give me extensions so I would look fabulous!  Let's start with my before picture:

Don't judge my bad hair, it was a million degrees in NYC and SO humid that day!  :)

Getting started!  Chris was fantastic!  The way these extensions work is that they take a very small section of your natural hair and sandwich it between two of the Easihair Pro extensions!  It's totally painless and the transformation is amazing!

Here is one of the panels of extensions and the brochure for Easihair Pro!  Since my hair has an ombre thing going on now, he used a bunch of different colored extensions to make sure they blended!

Yep, they gave me wine, that always helps when doing a hair change!  I purposely was facing away from the mirror because I didn't want to see it until it was all done!

A close up shot of Chris sectioning off some hair to attach some of the extensions!  You can see some of the length there already!

And here is the final result!  I absolutely love it!  It's so full and voluminous and they feel like my real hair!  I love that you can't see the attachment at all and since it's human hair, I can style it as usual!  These were so painless and easy to have applied and the final result is amazing!  I've gotten so many compliments on these in the last few days and I can't wait to start showing it off at Fashion shows today!

My new favorite stylist Chris is based out of Dallas but luckily for all of us, he has all sorts of amazing websites and social media we can check out!  Easilengths Tape In Hair Extensions is the brand that makes these awesome tape in extensions that were used on me!  I was hesitant and didn't want to do anything like sew in ones and these are an amazing alternative!  If you want to find a salon near you to have them done, check out Hair Extension Geek!  And check out Chris's own blog at Christopher Box!   He has great posts all about Fashion Weeks he participates in and all sorts of fun stuff!  A HUGE thank you to Chris for giving me gorgeous locks to rock for NYFW!

What do you think of my new hair?  Have you ever done extensions?  Would you?
