Nails Inc. Autumn 2011 Collection Swatches and Review

Good morning my fellow Lacquered Lovers!  Now I know, this is a Fall collection and I've already been showing you Winter collections, but I fell behind on my swatching!  nails inc. is a great British brand that is now carried in Sephora (yay!)

This cute 4 pack was $25 if I remember correctly and unfortunately is no longer available as a set but the colors are in their core line!  So now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above:  2 coats of Charing Cross

Charing Cross is a gorgeous, true red cream!  I love it!  It's a tiny bit on the lighter side, but I just love the brightness and how vibrant this shade is!  Fully opaque in 2 coats, I just loved this shade!

Above:  2 coats of Paddington

Paddington is a gorgeous blackened teal.  Depending on the light it looks grey, teal or very dark blue.  I love it!  It's so versatile and perfect for Fall!

Above:  2 coats of St. Pancras

St. Pancras was by far my favorite of this collection!  It is a gorgeous, deep, vampy red wine shade.  I love vampy colors in the winter and fall and this one is just stunning!  I love that it doesn't get too purple, you can clearly see it's red, and it's not so blackened that you can't tell it's a color!  Gorgeous!

Above:  2 coats of Fenchurch Street

Would it be weird to describe this shade as almost pumpkin?  Fenchurch Street is a dusty, deep orange shade.  Not my favorite color just because it looks a bit weird on my skin but for orange lovers out there, it's great!

All in all, I love Nails Inc.  I think their formula is fantastic, I love that they are all opaque in two coats and they have such a bright, shiny finish even without topcoat!  I also love how pigmented they are, all the colors really make a statement.

What do you think of these shades?  Do you have any Nails Inc. that you love?

Dr.'s REMEDY Fall Fever 2011 Collection

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers. Later this afternoon I will wow you with yet another of my 30 Days of Untrieds, but first, this morning, I'm going to show you the latest Dr.'s REMEDY Collection! Here is what the company has to say about their Fall collection:

Fall 2011 will be fierce: leaves will change, for sure, and temps will follow suit. But the real news relates to the hues of this season. Indeed, we're revolutionarily-ready to welcome a crisper, cleaner, clearer collection of colors, kudos to Dr.'s REMEDY insight and excitement over autumn. These hues celebrate the season that screams renewal: a rich bordeaux; a modern burgundy; a navy-meets-royal blue. We welcome you to invite your nails to dance in Dr.'s REMEDY FALL FEVER 2011.
So now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above: 2 coats of BALANCE Brick

BALANCE Brick is an awesome red cream! Fully opaque in 2 coats, I love that this isn't a "true" red cream like a lot of brands have been releasing lately, but a bit darker and bit warmer than many blue toned reds out there. This is a great polish for both fall and the upcoming holidays! It reminds me of the colors leaves on the trees turn to in the Fall!

Above: 2 coats of DEFENSE Deep Red

DEFENSE Deep Red is like the sultry, older sister to BALANCE Brick. I love dark vampy colors, and DEFENSE Deep Red is definitely vampy! Unfortunately I should have used 3 coats instead of two in order to make it truly opaque, but luckily unless it's in direct light or with a flash, you can't see the slight streakiness. I actually really love this color for fall, because it's not so blackened that you can't tell it's red. With a third coat, this would be a perfect deep red cream.

Above: 2 coats of NOBLE Navy

I totally saved my favorite for last. NOBLE Navy is a stunning navy blue cream. I can't believe that with all the blue polishes I own, I don't have a navy cream! This one is gorgeous, fully opaque in two coats, great formula and highly pigmented. I love it!

All in all, I always really enjoy Dr.'s REMEDY formula. If you'd like more information on them and their non-toxic nail polish, check out their facebook page HERE or their website HERE. Dr.'s REMEDY retails for $17 a bottle.

What did you all think of this collection? Any must haves? Have you tried any Dr.'s REMEDY before?

30 Days of Untrieds - Day 2: SpaRitual Running With Wolves

Good Afternoon my fellow Lacquered Lovers! Welcome back to 30 days of untried polishes! Today I have a special treat. My amazing Mom (Hi Mom!) who has been incredibly supportive of my blog bought me a present! While she and my dad were on vacation in Arizona, they went to get massages at the Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain Salon. While there, my mom spotted some nail polish and called to ask if I had ever tried SpaRitual polishes which I hadn't! My mom was chatting with the lovely Cindy who worked there and helped my mom pick out 4 minis for me. Once my mom told her about my blog, she threw in a full size bottle for free! So now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Ah Running with Wolves. This color is stunning! I'm in love. Running With Wolves is a perfect copper shimmer. It literally looks like I melted down pennies and dipped my nails in it! The formula on this was outstanding, fully opaque in two coats, no real brush strokes that are visible once it dries. This is one of those beautiful lit from within colors that just seems to glow on the nails! I'm generally not a big bronze/copper person but this one is just stunning. I also love that the bottle was easy to hold and has a rubberized top for easy gripping! It made painting my nails so easy!

SpaRitual is generally sold in spas although you can find them online. They generally run for $5 for a mini bottle or $10 for a full size. I highly recommend them! Their polishes are also vegan and cruelty free, so they are great for everyone! I honesty can't wait to try more!

Don't forget to check out the other lovely ladies participating in this challenge with me!

NYC Color Fall 2011 Colors

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers! I'm off to Chicago in a few hours with family for the weekend but I wanted to put up a quick post before I have to catch my flight! Today I have for you a mini collection of NYC Color polishes that are coming out now for the Fall. There are 3 lovely colors in this collection so now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above: 2 coats of Underground Purple

Above: macro shot of Underground Purple

Underground Purple is really more of a magenta than a purple. I found there was a lot of red tones that had this leaning more towards pink than purple. There is a slight hint of iridescent purple/blue to it that makes this a really fun color. If you're into pinks and purples, this is a great, rich fall shade!

Above: 2 coats of Backstage Brown

Above: Macro shot of Backstage Brown

Backstage Brown is more of a caramel color than a true brown. I love the shimmer in it and I think this is a fantastic Fall shade. I wasn't thrilled with the brush strokes you can see in this color, but I think a third coat might have evened that out. I do like that this was fully opaque and the shimmery reminds me almost of amber, a very warm shade.

Above: 2 coats of Scenestealer Grey

Above: macro shot of Scenestealer Grey

Lots of Greys this season! I love the gunmetal look we've been seeing from lots of brands and NYC is no different! Scenestealer Grey is a really pretty dark grey that is packed full of shimmer. As you can see in the blurry macro shot, some of the shimmer is different colors! It's not all just grey! I love when that happens, it really gives the polish some extra depth. This was fully opaque in 2 coats and just a great staple to have in your collection.

All in all, I really liked these! And for a brand that you can find cheap in most drugstores, these are really pretty colors and a very nice quality. Underground Purple was definitely a stand out to me (even though it's more pink than purple) and I just love the multi colored shimmer in Scenesteeler grey!

What did you all think of this collection? Any must haves?

Wet N Wild Fantasy Makers Halloween 2011 Collection Swatches and Review

Good afternoon my fellow Lacquered Lovers! Are you all loving Halloween week on here? I know I'm having fun with it, and never did I think I'd see so much orange on the blog! Today I have another Wet N Wild Collection for you, but unlike On The Prowl, this one is easy to find! Check the Halloween aisles at drug stores and they should be easy to grab! I did have some trouble photographing some of them so I apologize in advance. However the adorable tombstone bottles are just so cute that I love these! Now, on to the polish!

Above: 2 coats Creepy Pumpkin

Above: Macro shot of Creepy Pumpkin

Ah Creepy Pumpkin, how I love your name! It's awesome! Creepy Pumpkin is a sheer orange jelly with some glass fleck glitter in it. Now this color was super sheer but in all fairness I painted my nails quick and had I given it time to dry, it might have been more opaque with 3 coats. All in all I liked it though, it wasn't so orange that my nails looked like they were glowing and it was actually a flattering shade!

Above: 2 coats of Purple Potion

Above: Macro shot of Purple Potion

Purple Potion, I think, is a dupe of Night Prowl by Wet N Wild. But I haven't reviewed that yet so let's talk about Purple Potion! Purple Potion is dark purple micro glitter suspended in a black cream base. It was really hard to get a clear picture of the purple glitter in the black but in person, it's really cute! I like that it's not so packed with glitter that it gets all gritty and bumpy. Definitly a cute halloween color!

Above: 2 coats of Black Magic

Above: Macro shot of Black Magic

Black Magic is a black cream that's full of multi colors micro glitter. I got really excited at first because I thought this was a black holographic, but the rainbow effect comes from different colored glitter, not a holo effect. Regardless, this is still fun! Especially when the sunlight strikes it! For a black cream with a little something extra, this is a fun polish!

Above: Glow in the Dark Top Coat

No matter what I tried, I just could NOT get this to photograph properly! This is the Fantasy Makers Glow in the Dark Top Coat over OPI Fiercely Fiona. In real life (aka when I was standing in my closet with the door closed trying to get a picture) this looked awesome! It glowed bright green! However that did NOT translate into the picture, so you'll just have to trust me on this one!

All in all, I liked these, and for about $2 a piece you really can't go wrong. Check out the tops of Wet N Wild displays as well as Halloween sections of drug stores for the Fantasy Makers set.

What did you all think of this collection? Any must haves? Do you have any?
