Sally Hansen Insta Gel Starter Kit with Bonus Check Swatches and Review!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Tuesday to you all!  I hope you are all having a lovely week so far!  Today, I have a really cool post for you.  You have seen many of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects here on my blog because I love how cute they are and how long they last.  Today, I have their new gel strips!  They recently released starter kits with both gel polish and gel strips that come with a small led light, a gel top coat and a gel polish or strips.  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

These pictures were all taken FIVE days after application and they are still perfect!  Here's how the gel strips work.  You start off by applying them the same way you would the normal Salon Effects.  I personally like to use base coat beneath them but you don't have to.  You choose the strip that best fits your nail, smooth the strip down and file off the excess.  Since my nails are small, I was able to get away with only using one of the two packets it comes with.  Then, you will go one nail at a time and put on the gel top coat that comes in each packet and cure the nails one at a time under the LED lamp that comes with the starter kit.

You just plug the lamp into the wall and put one nail under the light and press the button at the top.  The lamp is timed to cure the gel for each finger.  Once the light goes off, put the gel top coat on the next nail and repeat!  Once you are all finished (which takes less than 10 minutes) then use the nail cleanser pads that come in each box and wipe off any sticky residue that's left on the nail and voila!  You have a gorgeous, shiny gel manicure!

The starter set will cost you less than $30 and will come with the led lamp, cuticle sticks, gel top coat, nail cleanser pads, nail file and buffer as well as either one bottle of the gel nail polish or the gel nail strips, whichever you like.  Any additional colors of polish or patterns of gel strips will cost you around $12-$13 depending on where you buy it.  They have a ton of different colors and designs including the hounds tooth above, glitter, lace and more!  Plus they really did hold up well!  5 days and not a chip or tip wear in sight!  These are definitely great when you don't have time to change your polish or when you're going on vacation!  Here's one more picture that I had put on Instagram holding my dog's paw with them:

All in all, I would recommend these.  They were super easy to use, removal was pretty easy with the foil method and they do actually last longer than even the normal Salon Effects.  The $29 for the starter kit is a bit high but if you like the colors it comes with, then it's definitely worth it.  Plus I love that you can reuse the light every time and just have to get different strips or polish!  The Sally Hansen Insta gel Polish and Strips kits are now available where Sally Hansen is sold.

What did you think of this set? Must have?

Lacquered Lover's Instagram NOTD Swatch Spam!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Tuesday to you all!  Today, I decided to do something a bit different than my normal swatches and review.  Usually on the blog I will try to do full collections or a few polishes at a time but in my every day life, I change up my nail polish virtually every day!  Now, if you follow my social media you've probably stumbled into a bunch of these from Instagram but I wanted to share with you guys some (and by that I mean over 30) of my nails of the day!

I'm pretty sure this is my most favorite collage ever.  This is most of the NOTD I have done over the last couple of months!  It also includes a fun nail polish art from a friend of mine.  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Polish Swatches and Review!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Friday to you all!  I hope you all have fun long weekends planned (if you are in the US that is!)  I will be heading up to my parents house with the boyfriend for a few days to hang out with the puppy, lounge by my friends house and all in all relax from the craziness that is my new job!  But first, I wanted to share with you the gorgeous new magnetic nail polish collection from Sally Hansen!  I'm showing you these both with and without flash so you can see how very pretty they are!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above:  Electric Emerald

Electric Emerald is beautiful!  This is a deep forest green that with the magnet separates into an even darker green with a lighter, frosty green magnetic design.  I love that it almost looks like microglitter!

Above:  Golden Conduct

I'd say that Golden Conduct is more bronze and warm toned than gold but it's still beautiful!  This dark bronze gets an almost silvery brown with the magnetic design.  This also has tiny microglitter in it that really shows up with the magnetic effect!  I love it!

Above:  Graphite Gravity

I think Graphite Gravity is the most unique in this bunch!  At first, it looks like a charcoal shimmer but with the magnet, vivid black appears!  I love it!  It virtually looks striped!  Seriously gorgeous for Fall!

Above:  2 coats of Kinetic Copper

I've recently started getting into copper shades because it looks better on my skintone than gold.  Kinetic Copper is a copper with microglitter that with the magnetic effect gets a vibrant dark brown separation with a copper.  It's beautiful!

Above:  Polar Purple

Polar Purple is a deep purple with the microglitter in it.  When it separates it gets a lighter, frosty purple stripe in it!  This one looks the most three dimensional to me and I love it!

Above:  Silver Element

This was definitely the most glittery of the bunch!  Silver Element is a beautiful microglitter silver that gets deep charcoal stripes in it with the magnetic effect!  I think it's my favorite silver magnetic I own!

All in all, I loved these!  The magnetic effect is very strong and the caps come with a wavy magnet built in that has the little cuticle lip which makes these super easy to use.  I love the ones that have the microglitter in them because it really makes the magnetic effect sparkle!  And I love that there is a black one in here, just really beautiful.  The formulas on these are a bit thick so I painted each nail once, let it dry for a few minutes, and then did a second coat with the magnet to get the full effect.  These polishes are now available wherever Sally Hansen is sold!

What did you think of these polishes? Any must haves? Any dupes?
