Zoya at Rafael Cennamo for NYFW Spring 2013 Collection!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Friday!  I hope you all have some wonderful plans for this upcoming weekend!  So, to kick off the weekend, I thought I'd show you a bit of my last weekend at NYFW!  I was so fortunate to be invited backstage by Zoya for the Rafael Cennamo Presentation!  I had such an amazing time seeing the nail and makeup looks created and then getting to see the final looks on stage!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above is all of the polishes that were used on the models!  Each model had a different color on their hands to perfectly match the dresses.  Apparently designer Rafael Cennamo is a huge fan of nail polish and went through about 35 polishes with lead manicurist Sunshine Outing and two tests to make sure the nails would be a match to the clothing he designed!  I love that they used everything from Greys like Caitlin to a blue like Yummy to a silver like Trixie to a black like Raven!  You don't expect to see a black or a dark grey in a Spring Collection but it worked so well!

Above is one of the models getting her Bobbi Brown makeup done,  They used false eyelashes not only on the upper lash line but also on the cheeks below the eyes to give a really unique and dramatic look.  One of the models kept saying she felt the lower lashes moving every time she smiled!

Above is the models in full makeup, nails and hair modeling it for us.  They were all so sweet and happy to show off their Zoya nails (which they kept raving about!)  I absolutely love how the makeup looks with the strong brow, heavy liner with a cat eye and of course, the lashes.

After being backstage, I was lucky enough to go into the full presentation to see Rafael Cennamo's Spring line and it's just stunning.  Check out the pictures below of his amazingly detailed dresses.  And check out the shoes, they are so cute!

All in all, this was a fantastic day!  A huge thank you to Rebecca Isa and Erin Giddings of Zoya, it was amazing to get a chance to talk to them all about Zoya and fashion and what goes into a sixth season at NYFW!  Also be sure to check out Gotham Polish for her amazing Fashion Week coverage as well!  I had a blast hanging out with her at the show!

Could you name all of the Zoyas that were used?  Which were your favorites?  What do you think of the amazing clothing by Rafael Cennamo?

Sneak Peek at the Zoya Ornate for Holiday 2012 Collection!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Thursday!  A quick post this morning to show something amazing I saw at NYFW!  Well, a few posts are coming about the amazing things I saw last weekend but first up, I had to show you all a sneak peek of the upcoming Zoya Holiday 2012 collection (out in stores in October!)  The ladies at Zoya were kind enough to show me the color spoons for the new collection while backstage at a show so now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above is the color wheel of the new Zoya Ornate collection!  Glittery, gorgeous goodness coming out from Zoya this winter!  I love the glitter, love the holographic qualities, love that Electra is actually FULL coverage!  Below see each color over skin as modeled by Rebecca Isa, color expert for Zoya!!!

Above is Zoya Logan a gorgeous deep green glitter.

Above is Zoya Aurora which is a mixture of purple and pink glitter with scattered holographic glitter!  Beautiful!

Above is Storm which is hands down my favorite!  Storm is a black nail polish full of holographic glitter!  It's amazing!

Above is Ziv, a beautiful true gold sparkle.  We compared it with a 14k gold ring and it's a pretty exact match!

Above the fabulous Erin of Zoya is modeling a french manicure with Zoya Erin and Ziv!  I love how subtle but fun this look is!

Electra is a holographic bar glitter that is actually a full coverage!  I'm normally not a fan of bar glitter because it looks hairy but this one doesn't have that hairy effect, it just looks like crystals and prisms!

Above is Blaze, a deep pinkish red that has the scattered holographic glitter!

All in all, I can't wait to actually get this collection in my hands!  Glitters, holographics and that gold is simply gorgeous.  I especially can't wait for Storm which is just amazing!  Two of my favorite things, dark and holographic glitter!

What did you think of this collection?  Any must haves?  Any dupes?

Lacquered Lover Gets Easihair Pro Hair Extensions for NYFW!

Good morning my fellow Lacquered Lovers!  Happy Saturday!  Today, I have a really special post for you!  As some of you might remember, about a year ago, I cut 14 inches off my hair to donate to the charity Locks of Love.  Fast forward to February NYFW and I met a fantastic stylist named Christopher Box who was there styling for the Parker Grey show!  I was a little lost as it was one of the first shows I ever attended so Chris and his awesome team were hanging out with me and we hit it off!  Fast forward to this week and in preparation for the NYFW shows this week, Chris very kindly offered to give me extensions so I would look fabulous!  Let's start with my before picture:

Don't judge my bad hair, it was a million degrees in NYC and SO humid that day!  :)

Getting started!  Chris was fantastic!  The way these extensions work is that they take a very small section of your natural hair and sandwich it between two of the Easihair Pro extensions!  It's totally painless and the transformation is amazing!

Here is one of the panels of extensions and the brochure for Easihair Pro!  Since my hair has an ombre thing going on now, he used a bunch of different colored extensions to make sure they blended!

Yep, they gave me wine, that always helps when doing a hair change!  I purposely was facing away from the mirror because I didn't want to see it until it was all done!

A close up shot of Chris sectioning off some hair to attach some of the extensions!  You can see some of the length there already!

And here is the final result!  I absolutely love it!  It's so full and voluminous and they feel like my real hair!  I love that you can't see the attachment at all and since it's human hair, I can style it as usual!  These were so painless and easy to have applied and the final result is amazing!  I've gotten so many compliments on these in the last few days and I can't wait to start showing it off at Fashion shows today!

My new favorite stylist Chris is based out of Dallas but luckily for all of us, he has all sorts of amazing websites and social media we can check out!  Easilengths Tape In Hair Extensions is the brand that makes these awesome tape in extensions that were used on me!  I was hesitant and didn't want to do anything like sew in ones and these are an amazing alternative!  If you want to find a salon near you to have them done, check out Hair Extension Geek!  And check out Chris's own blog at Christopher Box!   He has great posts all about Fashion Weeks he participates in and all sorts of fun stuff!  A HUGE thank you to Chris for giving me gorgeous locks to rock for NYFW!

What do you think of my new hair?  Have you ever done extensions?  Would you?

Jessica Fall 2012 Spicy Dreams Collection Swatches and Review PLUS a Giveaway!

Good morning my fellow Lacquered Lovers!  Happy Monday!  I'm celebrating my day off of work today by setting up some fun posts, doing swatches, all sorts of nail polish related goodies in preparation for Fashion Week!  Today, I have the new Fall collection by Jessica Cosmetics called Spicy Dreams to show you!

This collection is full of rich browns and reds that are perfect for Fall!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above:  2 coats of Brown Sugar

Brown Sugar is a gorgeous milk chocolate brown with a silver shimmer running through it.  It's such a rich, vibrant shade for Fall!  I love how the brown has some red to it that really makes it look decadent!  The shimmer is definitely hidden, it comes out in direct light but in indirect light it just looks like a rich brown without the shimmer. The formula is great, a little bit thick but easy to work with and opaque in 2 coats.

Above:  2 coats of Champagne Bubbles

Champagne Bubbles appears to be gold, silver and light gold tiny micro glitter all mixed together!  It's so fine that it almost looks like a foil on first glance but as you can see on the top picture, it's definitely a glitter.  This shade is really unique and complex.  The formula was great, easy to use and opaque in 2 coats.

Above:  2 coats of Cinnamon Kiss

As many of you now, I love colors that are blackened and have a shimmer that make them glow from within and Cinnamon Kiss fits that perfectly!  The base of Cinnamon Kiss is a blackened red and it's full of beautiful red shimmer.  Truly a gorgeous shade.  The formula was fantastic, easy to use and opaque in 2 coats!

Above:  2 coats of Crimson Tattoo

Crimson Tattoo is a gorgeous vampy blackened red jelly polish.  This is one of those dried blood looking shades that I love for Fall!  It truly almost looks black not in direct lighting but around the edges you can tell that it's red.  The formula was a bit thick so it's best to wait a few minutes between coats so there is no dragging.

Above:  2 coats of Gingersnap

Gingersnap is amazing.  This is a beautiful gold/red duo chrome that looks like a foil like Champagne Bubbles but is actually very fine micro glitter.  The red and gold in this shade make it look like a warm gold with flashes of red that's just stunning and very unique.  The formula was great opaque in 2 coats and simply stunning!

Above:  2 coats of Pumpkin Delight

Last but certainly not least is Pumpkin Delight, which is the same type of tiny glitter as Champagne Bubbles.  The glitters in Pumpkin Delight are more orange, red and bronze and it gives off flashes of gold as well.  Absolutely gorgeous!  The formula was great, opaque in 2 coats and easy to use.

All in all, this is a gorgeous Fall collection.  The colors are rich and vibrant, the glittery ones are unique and all had pretty great formulas!  These polishes should be available now wherever Jessica cosmetics are sold.  But, there's more!

Due to a shipping fluke, I have two versions of this collection and Jessica's PR is graciously letting me hold a giveaway for the entire collection to one lucky winner!  This giveaway will be open internationally, just fill out the form below and good luck!
