Barielle Glammed Out Garnet and Elle's Spell Swatches and Review!

Good morning Lacquered Lovers! So sorry for the lack of a post yesterday, so to make up for it, you get two today! As you read earlier in the week, I tried Barielle polishes for the first time recently and was fairly disappointed with Polished Princess. I just didn't love the color and it was very streaky. Well, I gave them another shot and I have to say, I was impressed! So this morning, I give you the two red Barielle polishes I got, Glammed Out Garnet and Elle's Spell.

Glammed Out Garnet is a beautiful bright red full of lighter red shimmer, almost bordering on a glass fleck. This red is gorgeous! It almost looks like a sparkle but without having texture or the removal! Here are a few more pictures!




You can really see the shimmer in these! This is just a beautiful darker red shimmer (without being blackened like a lot of darker reds can be). This color is perfect for a darker look that's not too vampy in the fall and winter. I could definitely see wearing this color on New Years Eve or for the holidays!

Next up is the Barielle I was the most excited about, Elle's Spell:





So when I first went to swatch Elle's Spell over my Seche Base, I could see that it was a jelly and immediately knew I had to try it on a few nails by itself and on a few over black (Wet N Wild Black Creme).

Elle's Spell is a deep red jelly base filled with red and orange opal flakies similar to Nfu-Oh 59 (I will so a comparison swatch soon!) Unfortunately on its own, I wasn't overly impressed because the flakies seemed to get lost in the jelly and even with three coats, there was visible nail line which drove me nuts! However over black, this was gorgeous! It gave the polish a really 3-dimensional look that when the light changed it flashes different shades of orange and red that were just stunning. I'll have to layer it over red as well to try but over the black, this was really beautiful. It's perfect for Fall because it kind of looks like when the trees change and are all different shades of red, orange and yellow! If you're looking for a flakie that's a cheaper alternative to Nfu-Oh, I'd highly recommend this!

All in all, I was fairly impressed with the Barielle reds! Glammed Out Garnet is a very glamorous deep red and Elle's Spell is just a great flakie! I had a coupon and a few promotions and didn't pay over about $4.00 for any bottle, and considering they usually retail for $8.00 it was great!
