Avon Nail Polish Tribal Nail Art!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Tuesday to you all!  I hope you all had a lovely weekend!  If you look up, you might notice that Lacquered Lover got a little makeover this weekend and now I have this wonderful blue header by the talented ladies at Mac & Mo Design!  Today, I have just a quick post on some nail art I did last night using the new Avon nail art enamel!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

I used Avon Sizzling Red as the red base and French Tip White as the white base.  Then I used the Nail Art Enamel in Black Drama, Delicate White and Yellow Glow to make the tribal prints!  I just kind of made up the prints as I went along, adding dots and lines wherever I felt like to get a kind of tribal feel to it!  I really like how it came out for my first attempt!  The Avon Nail Art Enamel polishes were really easy to use and I love how pigmented they are for nail art!  Here is a little collage of closer up shots:

What did you think of this manicure?  Have you ever done a tribal before?

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Just a quick post this morning all about one of my latest posts for the website Divine Caroline!  This week in nail art tutorials I used one of my many scrap booking scissors for a tape manicure!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

I love how cute this funky french came out with the crafting scissors!  It helps give you a fun, funky edge to the tape to play with!  To see which colors I used and to read the full post, check it out HERE!

Avon Nailwear Pro+ Nail Polish Spam Post! Swatches and Review of 13 New Shades!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  I hope you're all having a fabulous Tuesday!  Today, I have something really fun to show you!  Last week, Avon released 45 new shades as part of their Nailwear Pro+ Line!  I have 13 of them to show you today:

There are 4 finishes within the 45 new colors; creme, shimmer, sequin and sheer!  Since there are 13 polishes here, expect lots of pictures, less talking!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above:  2 coats of Absinthe

Absinthe is a "sequin" finish.  This actually really looks like the color of Absinthe and is a pale green with yellow undertones and gold shimmer that's very prominent.  It seems the shimmer in the sequin finishes are a different shade than the polish itself.  The formula was great, opaque in two coats and easy to work with.

Above:  2 Coats of Berry Smooth

Berry Smooth is a "creme" finish although this one almost applied like a jelly!  Berry Smooth is a deep reddish purple that looks squishy and vibrant!  I liked this shade much more on the nails than in the bottle because it's brighter on the nail.  The formula was great, opaque in two coats and very smooth.

Above:  2 coats of Coral Beat

Coral Beat is another creme finish and is a vibrant coral.  This shade is perfect for summer pedicures!  The formula was great, opaque in two coats and fairly saturated.

Above:  2 coats of Jade

Jade was a real stand out in this collection for me!  Jade is a gorgeous light green, not quite mint but the awesome thing is that it doesn't give me "lobster hands" the way a lot of light greens do!  The formula was great, pretty vibrant and opaque in 2 coats.

Above:  2 coats of Lagoon

Lagoon is a gorgeous bright blue shimmer.  My only complaint with this polish is that you can see a hint of the brush stroke because the shimmer is bordering on frosty, but the color is so pretty that it's worth it!  The formula was good, opaque in two coats, it's just a matter of how much brush strokes will bother you.

Above:  2 coats of Lucky Penny

I am actually surprised how much I LOVE Lucky Penny!  Lucky Penny is one of the sequin finishes and it's so sparkly and vibrant!  This is somewhere between an orange and a copper and it's just gorgeous.  The formula was great, opaque in two coats and lots of sparkles!

Above:  2 coats of Night Violet

Night Violet is another of the sequin polishes.  Night Violet is a deep, blackened plum but you can still see that it's purple thanks to the lighter purple shimmer in it.  This is an amazing color for Fall!  The formula was excellent, opaque in 2 coats.

Above:  2 coats of Rave

Rave is another of the sequin finish nail polishes and another surprise love of mine.  I'm not usually into pinks but there is something about this one that's just gorgeous.  It has that glow from within look that I love with the gold shimmer in the pink polish that makes it look like rose cold!  The formula was great, opaque in two coats and lots of sparkle.

Above:  2 coats of Sea Breeze

Sea Breeze is one of the cremes and a gorgeous turquoise.  I love that this isn't quite "bright" but also isn't a pastel.  The formula was a tad bit thick but easy enough to work with.

Above:  2 coats of Sunshine

Yay another yellow that doesn't look bad on me!  Sunshine is a bright yellow creme.  Not nearly a neon and totally a wearable yellow which is really nice.  The formula was great, opaque in two coats and good coverage.

Above:  2 coats of Tangtastic

Tangtastic is a gorgeous red based orange.  I was expecting this to be a bit more orange but I actually love how different it is with all the red undertones!  The formula was great, opaque in two coats and really vibrant!

Above:  2 coats of Viva Pink

Viva Pink is a vibrant bright pink creme.  This is the perfect girly pink color for Summer.  The formula was great, opaque in two coats and very saturated.

Above:  2 coats of Watermelon

Last but not least is Watermelon, a very saturated fuchsia creme.  This color is perfectly named as this reminds me of watermelon!  The formula was great, opaque in two coats and very vibrant.

All in all, I think these polishes are great.  Avon really stepped up their game with this formula as all the different finishes (aside from the sheers which I didn't try) were opaque in two coats, easy to work with and very vibrant.  The sequin finish is definitely my favorite because they are the most unique and sparkly!  These polishes are now available through Avon or an Avon rep!  I'll leave you with some nail art I did recently using these:

Avon Nail Polish Swatches and Review

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers! Today I have not one, not two but SIX new polishes to review for you! Very exciting stuff over here in Lacquered Lover land. I have 6 fall colors from Avon to review for you all today.

Left to Right: Red Wine, Mink Vision, Vivid Violet, Ruby Slipper, Bare Necessity, Grey Cement

Now this was my first time ever trying Avon polishes and I have to say, I was really impressed! I was lucky that I got to try three different formulas of theirs including their matte, speed dry and nailwear pro. Now, without further ado, I give you the polishes!

Above: Red Wine - 2 coats over 1 coat Seche Base

Red Wine is one of the polishes from the Speed Dry collection and I have to say, it does dry fast! By the time I had my camera ready to take pictures (withing 2 minutes of finishing the second coat) they were almost dry! Red Wine is a deep, blood red creme. It reminds me a bit of Essie Berry Hard but is definitely lighter. Some of the pictures with the flash make it look like you can see visible nail line but the flash does that sometimes, in real life this color was fully opaque in two coats. It's really pretty if you are looking for a quick darker red, it's not quite as vampy as a lot of darker colors out there so it's nice that it has a lot of red to it!

Above: Mink Vision - 2 coats over 1 coat Seche Base

Mink Vision was the other SpeedDry color I tried from Avon. This color is a warm, chocolate brown with golden and lighter brown shimmer throughout. Mink Vision, like Red Wine, dried very quick and very shiny! I love this color for fall, it's dark but warm all at the same time! I never used to be into brown nails but this season I'm loving it!

Above: Vivid Violet - 2 coats over 1 coat Seche Base

Vivid Violet is from the Nailwear Pro line. Unfortunately, I haven't done a wear test of any of these yet but according to the website they last up to 10 days! Vivid Violet is a gorgeous blue based purple shimmer that isn't quite a duochrome but not too far off! There are tiny flashes of blue when the light hits it just right. This color was fully opaque in 2 coats and had no streaking and it's just a really pretty bright purple!

Above: Ruby Slippers - 2 coats over 1 coat Seche Base

Ruby Slippers is also from the Nailwear Pro line and is a really pretty bright red packed with tiny pink sparkles. I love that this polish has pink sparkles instead of the usual silver or gold because that means that I have no dupes amongst my many reds! The pink makes the red a lot more warm and bright. This color would be great for pedicures? As with the others, this polish was fully opaque in 2 coats.

Above: Bare Necessity - 2 coats over 1 coat Seche Base.

Bare Necessity was definitely my least favorite color. However I'm never a fan of nude type colors or the "mannequin hands" look where your nail polish blends into your skin. It kind of freaks me out! The color is just not for me but for those of you who love nudes it's very nice! Fully opaque in 2 coats, no streaks or bald spots, great application.

Above: Grey Cement - 2 coats over 1 coat Seche Base

Last but certainly not least is Grey Cement, a medium grey color that I'm obsessed with. I love anything grey and I really love anything matte, so I was super excited to try this one! I did a second coat only because I was a bit messy with the first but this color was virtually opaque in just one coat. I love the satin type finish this has instead of just flat like many mattes are. I own quite a few grey matte's now and I'm happy to report that this is not a dupe for any of them since this is lighter! I am really looking forward to wearing this color in the fall and winter and absolutely loved the formula.

All in all, I really enjoyed these polishes! I had never tried Avon polish before and I think they are pretty great! The application on all three of the lines were superb, they were all opaque in two coats and the brush was very easy to maneuver. I'd definitely recommend these polishes and they have a very wide assortment of colors!

Have you tried any Avon polishes? What are your favorite colors above?
