Milani Gold Label Nail Polish Collection for Spring 2014 Swatches and Review!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Friday to you all!  I hope you all had a lovely week so far and are looking forward to the weekend!  Today, I have 12 gorgeous nail polishes from Milani that they sent me to review to show you!

This Spring Milani is releasing 6 vibrant creme polishes and 6 different glitter toppers!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

 Above:  2 coats Colorful Coral

Colorful Coral is a very orange leaning coral.  This polish is super bright but has just enough pink to it to not be a true orange.  The formula was very smooth, completely opaque in 2 coats.

Sugar Cane consists of pink and purple metallic bar glitter and multiple sized white hexagonal matte glitters in a clear base.  I'm not a huge fan of bar glitter so this was probably my least favorite.  I can't even imagine how many coats you would need to make this opaque but the glitter did come out easily.

 Above:  2 coats of Popping Pink

Popping Pink is a slightly lighter bright pink creme nail polish.  There is a hit of blue base to this but not overpoweringly so.  The formula was good, very smooth and opaque in 2 coats.

Sugar Rim was one of my favorites from this collection!  All matte glitters in black, red, light blue and yellow in slightly varying sizes, I can honestly say I don't own anything like this.  All of these glitters are suspended in a clear base and apply really easily to the nail.

 Above:  2 coats of Splendid Strawberry

Splendid Strawberry is a more medium, red based bright pink creme.  This is a classic pink for spring and I'm sure there are dupes out there for this.  The formula was great, very smooth and opaque in 2 coats.

The first time I saw the name Sugar High, all I could think of was Empire Records and Renee Zellweger singing on top of a roof.  That being said, this is another super unique glitter topper!  This polish consists of peach, yellow, light blue, cobalt, red and gold small hexagonal glitters in a clear base.  I love how different this is!  It reminds me of Easter.  The application was very easy to get the glitters out.

I think Vivid Violet is my favorite of the cremes.  This is a medium blue based violet and it's stunning!  It's very vibrant without being neon.  The formula was great, opaque in 2 coats and very easy to apply.

Sugar Coated is a glitter topper full of multiple sized and shaped lime green matte glitters and a tiny bit of holographic glitters sprinkled in.  Usually I hate bar glitter but it's sparse enough here that I kind of like it!  The formula was very easy to work with and get the glitter out.

Showy Sea-Green is a muted bright green polish.  I guess I would call this a grassy green?  It's actually a really pretty shade because it's not yellow leaning.  The formula was great, opaque in 2 coats and very smooth.

Sugar Burst is the light pink version of Sugar Coated.  All matte light pink glitters and tiny holographic glitters in a clear base.  It's actually very pretty and dainty, not as stark as a white would be but looks really cool over bright colors!  The glitters came out really easily and smoothly.

Power Periwinkle is, as you might guess, a really pretty periwinkle!  This shade is a bit violet leaning and just super gorgeous on the nails.  The formula was a bit streaky on this one but was mostly leveled out in 2 coats.

Sugar Rush is a glitter topper with light pink, light green, peach, white and silver hexagonal glitters.  This was the only glitter that gave me a problem.  I found I had to fish to get the glitters out and had to just put a glob of polish on the nail and manually spread it out to get any sort of glitter coverage.  I had to use two coats for the coverage you see above and it was rather thick.

All in all, I think Milani did a great job with these.  The cremes were virtually all 2 coaters, very smooth, very opaque and easy to work with.  The glitters were unique, fun, and different!  These polishes will be out in February wherever Milani is sold and retail for $4.69 each.

MAC Hayley Williams Collection Daydreaming and Sounds Like Noise Swatches and Review!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Tuesday to you all!  I hope you're all having a lovely week so far!  I've recently started to become a little more creative in my makeup so when I saw that MAC was releasing a line of orange makeup in conjunction with Hayley Williams of Paramore, I had to check it out!  

I bought both this eyeshadow and lipstick when they were released last week!  Now, without  further ado, on to the makeup!

MAC Daydreaming is a vivid coral leaning orange shadow that's full of a pearly finish.  This is a VERY pigmented eyeshadow which I love!  I love that it's kind of frosty and has a lot of shimmer to it because it makes it much more wearable.  It's super soft the touch and just goes on beautifully.  Here is how I wore it below with the Kryolan bright palette, Illamasqua liquid liner and mascara and Urban Decay 24/7 liner on the bottom.

I honestly had no idea how to pull of an all orange eye but I love how subtle it ended up being while still maintaining a fun pop of color!

Sounds Like Noise is a BRIGHT orange matte lipstick!  I was really surprised at just how bright and pigmented this looked on my arm and kind of loved it!

Luckily on the lip it's slightly more toned down and gives a great juicy look to it.  This is a very matte lipstick so I made sure to exfoliate and moisturize before applying it and after 6 hours, it's still wearing strong!

Jin Soon Botanical Garden Collection for Spring 2013 Swatches and Review!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Thursday to you all!  I hope you are all having a lovely day so far!  Today, I have the new collection from Jin Soon to share with you guys!  For those of you who may not know, Jin Soon Choi is a fabulous celebrity manicurist who launched her own line of nail polishes!

The Botanical Gardens Collection consists of 5 colors for Spring!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

 Above:  3 coats of Blue Iris

First up is blue Iris, a gorgeous deep royal blue.  The consistency on this is halfway between a cream and a jelly which makes it super vibrant but a tad bit sheer.  With three coats I couldn't see the visible nail line unless it was under a direct light but it was so pigmented that it's just gorgeous.

Coral Peony is a gorgeous bright coral shade.  It's not quite neon but it's getting pretty close!  I just love how vibrant this shade is and how it's kind of hot pink and coral all rolled into one!  The formula was great, two coats for full opacity and a LOT of pigment!

French Lilac is one of those pink/purple shades that I change my mind on depending on the lighting so Lilac is a fitting name.  I'm not really a pink type girl but it's a very pretty shade for Spring.  The formula on this was good, opaque in two coats and very pigmented.

I love Poppy Blue.  There, I said it.  This gorgeous bright turquoise is perfection in a bottle.  The color is just so vibrant and fun and the formula was amazing!  Two coats and so pigmented, I love it!

Tea Rose is a bright peach shade.  I like that it's not super pale like most peach colors and while it is super pigmented, it was a bit streaky after 2 coats so I added a third one to even it out.

Then, I decided it was necessary to do some nail art with these polishes so I did a fan brush manicure using them all!

All in all, I liked these polishes.  They all have a sort of jelly like squishy finish to them but are definitely cremes with a LOT of pigment so they are easy to use.  I especially loved the blues because they are so vibrant for the Spring!  Jin Soon polishes are now available at her website or Sephora for $18 each.

Butter London Sweetie Shop Collection for Spring 2013 Swatches and Review!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Wednesday to you all!  I may be a bit silent on here in the next few days because NYFW is starting but be sure to check out my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook (@lacqueredlover) for up to the minute behind the scenes beauty access!  But first, today I have a really cute collection for you!

The Butter London Sweetie Shop Collection is a super cute collection of bright pastels that are perfect for Spring!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

 Above:  3 thin coats of Cuppa

Cuppa is a light beige nude creme.  It's definitely a palette cleanser type of color, very professional looking but beige enough that it won't give anyone mannequin hands.  The formula was a bit hard to work with, fairly thick, so I found that three thin coats worked best.

 Above:  3 thin coats of Jasper

Jasper is a bright pastel yellow creme polish.  Now I'm not sure how something can be bright but pastel but this collection is just full of these gems!  The formula for a light yellow wasn't bad, three thin coats made it opaque and not streaky.

 Above:  2 coats of Kerfuffle

I really like saying Kerfuffle.  I have now incorporated it into my vocabulary.  Kerfuffle is a bright pastel coral.  This was a surprise favorite of mine from this collection!  There is a lot of pink to this polish but it's so fun and bright!  This will be a fabulous pedicure color!  The formula was a bit thick but 2 coats worked for this polish, just let them dry for a minute or two in between.

Fruit Machine is a bright baby pink creme.  If you're a pink kinda gal, this color is right up your alley for Spring!  The formula was good on this one, a bit thick but 2 coats worked perfectly!

 Above:  3 thin coats of Fiver

I am loving all the mint greens this year that actually don't give me lobster hands!  Fiver is a gorgeous ice mint green.  I love that it's bright but pale at the same time!  The formula works best when you use three thin coats to even it out.

Molly Coddled is a bright lilac creme.  I really like how this shade looks and don't think I have an exact dupe for it!  The formula was a bit thick so I found that three thin coats worked the best for full opacity.

All in all, I liked this collection.  I had bought these when they were buy 2 get 1 free at Nordstrom and am glad because a few of the formulas I wasn't in love with.  They all look great eventually but I like my polishes to be 2 coaters.  I will say that Fiver, Kerfuffle and Molly Coddled were definitely my favorites from this collection and fairly easy to work with!  This collection is on sale now for $15 wherever Butter London is sold.
