Lacquered Lover at Cosmoprof featuring Barielle and Shany!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Friday to you all!  Today is a special day for me because today is my last day at work at the job I've been at for 3 years.  I'm very excited about my new endeavor because it's finally making my dream of working in the beauty field a reality!  I will give more details once I start but first, let's continue on our journey through Cosmoprof!  Today I will show you just a few snippets of Barielle and Shany at the event!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!!!

First is a Dainty and Delicate set by Barielle of all pinks, peaches, whites and nudes.  These polishes are perfect for the professional, a wedding, anywhere that your nails should look clean and nice.  Good basic colors to have!

Obviously I'm a sucker for anything NYC related but I love the shades in this collection.  The green/teal, red, greys all scream NYC in the Fall!  I don't have an exact release date but I was told sometime this Fall!

Barielle is also coming out with a Runway Collection that's also for Fall that has a vampy brown, deep blue shimmer and more neutral cremes to balance it out!

Shany is a company I haven't had the pleasure of seeing or working with yet and they have a HUGE line of nail polish, cosmetics and basically anything beauty related you can think of!

A GIANT eyeshadow palette from Shany!  Seriously I'd love to have this, think of the makeup possibilities!

A cute french manicure set that has everything you need from a nude, pink, white, topcoat toe separators, file, orange stick and clean up brush!  I love being able to get everything in one place!
A really cute magnetic set!  Comes with six polishes in rich jewel tones and a few different magnet shapes!  I really love magnetics and I'm loving that more affordable brands are starting to carry them!

Shany has some awesome nail art stripers from glitters to neons to pastels.  The pastels are really unique since most brands that I've seen don't have them!

Look at all these different nail art items!  There are 3D fimo, flakes, glitters, microglitters, all sorts of fun stuff to put on your nails!

The last thing I snagged a picture of was Shany's stamping plates!  I've never tried them before but I've heard fabulous things about them!

All in all, some great stuff here from Barielle and Shany!  Makeup, nail polish, nail art, you name it and I saw it all at Cosmoprof!  Stay tuned for a few more posts about the awesome booths I saw!

Lacquered Lover at Cosmoprof Featuring L.A. Girl

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Just a quick post here to show you some of the really fun new nail polishes and sets being put out by L.A. Girl this year!  L.A. Girl is a new brand to me, I have seen some of their displays in local Rite Aids but haven't yet had a chance to try their polish!  However they have some awesome new kits coming out so now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Part of the regular LA Girl line including the Disco Brights!  These are really fun neon and bright shades that are out in stores now!

Next there are nail art stripers in every color and every color glitter imaginable!  Think of all the possibilities!

How cute are these ombre sets?  Great for non-polish hoarders like myself so they can pick up a set and be able to achieve the ombre look!  Some of them have different finishes but those teals are my far my favorite!

This little polka dot nail art kit is so cute!  I think it's great that companies are realizing there is a market for people who want to experiment with their own nail art and this is an affordable way to do it!

All in all, L.A. Girl has some really cute nail art kits coming out in the next year!  Great stuff for people who just want to try out nail art or are just getting into it and don't want to spend a ton of time and money getting all the tools necessary!  Look out in your local drugstores for these soon!

Lacquered Lover at Cosmoprof featuring Nicka K!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Thursday to you all!  Today I want to share with you a fabulous booth for Nicka K that I stopped by at Cosmoprof!  I have some of their nail polishes to review for you coming up next week but they gave us a peek into what they have coming out and currently have and it's a lot of fun!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish (and other fun things!)

First up is their regular nail polish line which is in gorgeous tear drop shaped bottles!  I love the bottle, it looks so elegant and they had a great array of color!  Stay tuned for another post next week on the gorgeous teal I picked up and their Magnetic polish line (that I forgot to photograph because I was so excited about all the goodies here!)

Next we have a new line of body shimmer that's scented!  The scents were not at all overpowering and these gave a nice faintly glitter glow so you don't have to worry about looking like a show girl!  Great for a night out when you want to glisten a little bit!

Next up they showed us the new lip glosses which come in a variety of colors from nudes to pinks to orange to red to a vampy shade!  They are really pigmented for glosses and don't look terribly sticky!

This was our lovely host showing us one of Nicka K's brightening masks!  They look hilarious but I felt them and it's super hydrating and cooling!

They had a ton of other cool stuff of which I got samples and will be posting them soon!  Here is a little look of me testing their cucumber and aloe eye pads!

I'm seriously obsessed with them!  Each pack comes with 16 pads and it's resealable so you just pop them in the fridge and put them on for 10 minutes and it helps with soothing sore eyes, puffiness and dark circles!  I love them!

All in all, I had a great time at Nicka K's booth!  Stay tuned for more product information when I start doing all the swatches next week!

First up is the most anticipated collection for the next few months (for me at least!) in Halo Hues, a collection of SIX holographic nail polishes!  They are absolutely stunning!  The holo effect is so strong, you can even see with in regular, artificial light in the second picture!  These are set to launch August 15th!

Next up for Fall 2012 we have the In True Fashion Collection which has THREE duochromes!  This is a gorgeous fall collection that is really diverse and has something for everyone!  Look out for this at the end of August/September!  Here is the color list:

Next up is the Winter Affair collection out in time for the holidays!  I love the tag line "a little naughty, a lot nice" and these rich jewel tones and flakie top coat are gorgeous!  Look for this collection in October!  Here are the colors:

Berry and Bright – Red Shimmer Sparkle
Glitter Wonderland – Purple Shimmer
Ho-Ho-Holly – Green Shimmer
Gift of Sparkle – Purple with Blue Glitter
Winter Affair, Maroon Shimmer
Snow-flakes = Flaky Top Coat

Just a couple of pictures of their booth, they had ALL of their collections and I was in Color Club heaven!!!

Above:  Top Row - Ruby Wing Swatches, Bottom Row - Ruby Wing Swatches after sunlight!

Ruby Wing is a new brand that makes nail polish that changes color under UV light!  These colors are gorgeous!  As you can see above, they change pretty significantly and only took a few seconds.  They do change back pretty fast when you're in the shade but it's really fun, especially for summer!

I am SO excited for all the new releases by Color Club coming up!  Holographics, duochromes, flakie, jewel tones, so many beautiful colors this Fall and Winter!  Add the Ruby Wing line to it and Color Club is quickly becoming more and more exciting (and they were already amazing with their neons, holos, glitters, etc.)

What did you think of these collections?  What are you most excited for?

Layla Hologram Effect in Emerald Divine & Red Taboo, Mirror Effect in Black as Ebony and Ceramic Effect in Butterfly Effect Swatches and Review!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Tuesday!  I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far!  Today, I have the second half of the amazing Layla nail polishes I got at Cosmoprof in Las Vegas last week!  I know you've all been waiting for the holograms and mirror effect polishes so today, I have 2 holograms, 1 mirror and a flakie for good measure!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

This is how incredible this polish is even in artificial light!  It's stunning!  Emerald Divine is a gorgeous bright green holographic.  In the sun, it's even more stunning!  The holographic effect is very strong in this one, stronger than even some of the 8 original Layla colors!  I didn't use a base coat, just Layla's buffer that they recommend and this is 3 thin coats to get the most intensity out of the shade!

Ok so for some reason, Red Taboo didn't want to play nice with my camera.  The holographic effect IS stronger than it shows here, however it is NOT as strong as Emerald Divine.  It's also not exactly red, it's more of a dark reddish pink.  It's really beautiful in person and you can see on the accent nail picture it is more holo than the ones above it.  If you are looking for a true red holo, this is definitely pink in person but it's just beautiful!  I did three thin coats for full opacity!

Now this is a really special polish.  Black as Ebony comes from the new Mirror Effect line that will launch in the US very soon.  There are 8 (I think) colors that all have a chrome finish.  The amazing thing about these chromes as compared to others is that there are NO brushstrokes.  It kind of looks like there might be when you paint it on and then it dries to this unbelievably smooth and shiny finish.  I could seriously see a fuzzy reflection of myself in them!  You can't use a base coat with this because it gets all wrinkly so you use Layla's very fine buffer to smooth out your nails.  Keep in mind that any imperfections will show with this polish but it dries unbelievably fast so this is perfect for a manicure on the go!

The Butterfly Effect is part of the Ceramic Effect Line and part of the Christmas in Laylaland holiday collection for 2012.  The Butterfly Effect (also known as #52 in their lineup) is a beautiful dark purple jelly full of flakies that flash gold, red and green.  This is pretty much a dead on dupe for Nfu-Oh 51!  The flakies give a duochrome effect and while this is three thin coats layered, it would be gorgeous over a dark purple also!

Here is just a fun picture of a manicure I did with Black as Ebony and Emerald Divine:

All in all, I LOVE these polishes!  Layla really has some exciting stuff coming out this year between the soft touch lines, mirrors, flakies, glitters and holographics!  I love seeing this innovative brand really becoming successful and coming out with gorgeous polishes!  All of these are starting to pop up all over the world so keep your eyes open!

What do you think of these polishes? Any must haves? Any dupes?
