Fun Friday's Featuring a ManGlaze Saran Wrap Nail Art Manicure!

Good morning my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Friday!  I hope you all have some fun weekend plans in store!  I know I will be swatching a ton of fun stuff for you guys!  Today, I have a really fun Nail Art I did a few weeks ago featuring three of my favorite ManGlaze nail polishes, Lesbihonest, Mink Mittens and Matte is Murder.  Here are some macro shots as a little teaser:

Doesn't it kind of look like lace?  Are you curious what the actual manicure looks like?  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

I did this manicure using saran wrap!  Since the polishes are all matte they dried really fast so this was a really quick, easy nail art!  I just love how textured it ended up looking and I especially loved the contrast on the nails with Mink Mittens and Matte is Murder!

What did you think of this manicure?  Are you a fan of this style of nail art?

Fun Friday featuring Whimsical Ideas By Pam Seuss and Saturday Morning Cartoons!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Friday!  I'm very excited it's the weekend but I'm more excited about my post today!  First, a little story.  About a month ago, I ordered three nail polishes from the awesome indie brand Whimsical Ideas by Pam.  I had seen swatches of Seuss and knew I wanted it!  So, I ordered them and they were sent and everything was fine and dandy until somehow, my package got lost!  It said it got delivered but I live in a huge apartment building and somehow, after 2 weeks, I knew it was lost and gone forever.  So I contacted Pam and asked her if I could please re-buy the polishes because I really wanted them!  She said of course but that she was out of the glitter for one of them and would get back to me.

Fast forward to last night and I get a package from Whimsical Ideas by Pam.  Inside was the three polishes I had ordered and a note from my nail polish BFF Wendy wishing me a happy early birthday!  My birthday isn't for another 12 days but Wendy contacted Pam so she could get me the polishes for my birthday and so I wouldn't re-order them!  Pam was in on it, hence the little white lie about the glitter shortage and it was such an amazing surprise!

There is a third polish as well but I only used these two for my "Carly" manicure today.  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Ok I know that's a lot of pictures but these polishes are amazing!  What you see above is three coats of each polish which made both of them opaque!  Seuss is a sky blue jelly packed with large silver hex glitter, smaller red hex glitter and tiny silver glitter.  Tell me this doesn't remind you of The Cat in the Hat and Thing One and Thing Two!  I love it!  Saturday Morning Cartoons is a dark blue jelly packed with red, silver, and green glitter!  It's so sparkly and fun!  Both of these are awesome and look super fun together!

All in all, I love these polishes!  Whimsical Ideas by Pam can be found HERE and she gives instructions on how to order!  Once again a HUGE thank you to Wendy for my amazing early birthday surprise!  Sometimes it's really amazing how awesome this nail polish community is and the random acts of kindness that people can do!

Fun Friday Featuring a Holo Gradient!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Happy Friday!  I hope all the American readers are excited for a 3 day weekend!  I know I certainly am!  Today, I bring you another post that a group of us bloggers (and a few non bloggers) decided to participate in!  Today's theme was gradient nails.  As some of you may know, just last week I finally mastered the art of the gradient and I was so excited to try it again!  This time I decided to use all my untried China Glaze holographic polishes!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

I LOVED how this came out!  I actually wore this last weekend to a big outdoor food and music festival in Brooklyn and in the sun, it was amazing!  To do this manicure, I started out with a coat of China Glaze OMG which is a beautiful silver linear holographic polish.  Then on my right hand I did a gradient using OMG and DV8 which is a teal version of OMG and on the right hand I did it with OMG and LOL which is a purple holographic.  This was so sparkly and holographic, I loved it!  I'm already planning my next holo gradient!

So there you have it, a very fun Friday featuring a holo gradient!  Don't forget to check out the rest of the lovely ladies participating below and let me know what you think of this week's Fun Friday!

Per usual as of lately, each of my hands is a different color with a matching accent nail to the opposite hand!  My right hand has SpaRitual Ebb & Flow which is a gorgeous turquoise creme with an accent nail of Lucid which is a light purple creme.  My left hand is the opposite!  I love this combination and added the amazing Connect the Dot by Lynderella is the icing on the cake!  Let's check out some macro shots:

I love all the different shapes and glitters!  Again a big thank you to my friend Marissa who got me Connect the Dots and I can't wait to keep using these SpaRituals!

Fun Friday featuring a Laser Tape Manicure with Layla Black Flash and ManGlaze Ilf!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  Whew that was a long title!  As many of you saw yesterday, I just discovered the joys of striping tape for manicures!  So, I thought to myself "what would happen if I used a holographic polish as a base and covered it with a matte?"  Well, I tried it out and I LOVE it!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

 Above:  Right Hand
Above:  Left Hand

I started with two coats of Layla Flash Black.  I love this polish!  Black linear holographic?  It's amazing!  I will try to get full swatches of it this weekend because it's seriously my favorite holo now!  Then I used the striping tape and tried out different patterns on each finger!  Then just one coat of ManGlaze ILF on top to make the laser beams!  Here are some macro shots:

I really love how this came out!  Even indoors, you can see bits of the holo peeking through!  Now here are some pictures with flash to really see more of the rainbow holographic effect!

I'm seriously in love with this!  I can't wait to try out other combinations with the striping tape!  I love the juxtaposition between the matte blue and the shiny, holo grey!  This is definitely a FUN Friday manicure!

What do you think of this manicure?  Any combinations you'd like to see with striping tape?

Fun Friday Featuring a Watermarble!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  For today's fun Friday post, I have a manicure I did on my work wife a few weeks ago.  See, we were having a rough day at work and decided the only fix would be wine and manicures!  She requested a water marble so we gave it a shot!  Now keep in mind that wine was involved, hence the no clean up, but I like it!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

The color used in this water marble were Essie First Dance, China Glaze Liquid Leather and Zoya Megan.  Sorry the pictures are so messy!  We barely did any clean up other than taking the tape off and using a bit of remover to get off the really messy areas but I love the colors in the marble!

So there you have it, yet another water marble!  I really love doing them, the final result is so cool!  Stay tuned next week because I have some really awesome collections coming up to show you all!  Have a great weekend!

What did you think of this water marble?  What color combinations would you like to see?

Fun Friday Part 2 Featuring Essie First Dance and Nubar Black Polka Dots and White Polka Dots!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  One more quick post today for Wear Red For Women Day and this is what I actually have on my nails today.  Thanks to my awesome friend Wendy, I now own my first Nubars!  I was super excited to try them out so I tried not one, but two!  And now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above:  2 coats of Essie First Dance, 1 coat of Nubar Black Polka Dots, 1 coat of Nubar White Polka Dots

So I started off with two coats of my favorite red creme, Essie First Dance.  Then I tried one coat of Nubar black polka dots which is a clear base packed full of small and slightly larger black polka dots.  Once that dried, I added a coat of Nubar white polka dots, which is the white version of black polka dots.  I love it!  I think it looks super cute!

So there you have it, one last red manicure for a good cause!  Be sure to check back this weekend for my Super Bowl manicure!

What do you think of this manicure?  Are you a fan of the black and white polka dots?

Fun Friday Part 1 Featuring Eliana Attitude and Nerd Lacquer Nebula!

Good afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  I have two fun Friday posts for you today!  And continuing in the theme of the day, both are red for Go Red For Women day!  Also some fun information for you, in order to help get the word out about Go Red For Women, both the Empire State Building in NYC and the White House will be lit in red this year!  Thanks to my Aunt for the information!  (Hi Aunt Abbe!)  I will try to snap a picture of the Empire State Building tonight on my walk home from work and post it up for you guys to see on my FaceBook page later!  Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above:  1 coat of Finger Paints Black Expressionism and 1 coat of Elana Attitude

So I am involved in a lovely swap with my Brazilian friend and Elana Attitude is one of the polishes she sent me!  I love it!  I put a coat of Finger Paints Black Expressionism underneath because it's a bit sheer but Attitude is GORGEOUS!  A true vampy shimmery red.  I just love it!  It's so rich looking!  However I have a bunch of new polishes I've been wanting to try so I decided to add one of my new Nerd Lacquer polishes on top!

above:  1 coat of Nebula

So I added a coat of Nerd Lacquer Nebula and wow!  This polish is amazing!  It's a red/purpley jelly base that is packed with multi colored and multi sized glitter.  I see blue, pink, fuchsia, silver, red, light purple, it's just amazing!  I love how sparkly it was!  Plus the day I wore this people kept asking what it was!  I highly recommend it!

So there you have it, another red manicure for today.  I really enjoyed this one!  Nerd Lacquer is available on Etsy and Harlowe & Co. and they are great!  They all have "geeky" names and glitter galore!  Go check them out!  I have a bunch of them so stay tuned in the future for more swatches!

What did you think of this manicure?  Are you wearing red today?
