Deborah Lippmann Money Now Sleep Later Swatches and Review

Good afternoon my fellow Lacquered Lovers!  It's starting to look like this week will be full of Deborah Lippmann!  Today I have one of the three new Lippmann Collection polishes available exclusively at Barney's Department Store. Each of these shades is full of shimmer and very festive looking for the holiday season.  I have to say, I'm starting to have trouble keeping up with all her new collections!  Different stores have exclusives, the normal core line, seasonal lines, HSN, it's like there is a gorgeous new collection every week!  Regardless, today I'm just showing you one polish so now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above:  3 coats of Money Now Sleep Later

Money Now Sleep Later looks like a teal/purple duochrome in the bottle.  In the bottle, as with many duochromes, it has much more of a color shift than it does on the nail, however Money Now Sleep Later is still a really gorgeous color.  You can definitely see a bit of the purple flash depending on the angle and lighting.  The formula on Money Now Sleep Later is a bit sheer so it took three coats to reach full opaqueness.

However I thought that maybe this, like many other duochromes, would really pop more over a dark color.  Here is what one coat of Money Now Sleep Later looks like over black:

Over black, this color is absolutely stunning!  I love it!  I can't wait to layer it over other shades now!  I just love how vibrant it is, how much it flashes between purple and teal, and how shiny it is even without top coat!  Plus I only put one layer of Money Now Sleep Later over one coat of Wet N Wild Black Creme so it'll make the Deborah Lippmann last longer!

Money Now Sleep Later is available exclusively at Barney's.

What do you think of this polish?  Are you a duochrome fan?  What are some of your favorites?

Day 16 Featuring Mattese Elite Mysterious

Good Afternoon my fellow lacquered lovers!  If you all recall, last Friday I posted up the teaser photos for the new Mattese Elite Winter Wonderland Collection found at Ricky's.  Being the crafty little nail polish hunter that I am, I've been stalking the stores since Friday and lo and behold, I found the whole collection yesterday!  Now you'll all have to wait until next Monday to get the full swatches and reviews so I can take the proper pictures this weekend when the weather clears up, but I do have one for you today!  So now, without further ado, on to the nail polish!

Above:  macro shot

Do you see what I see?  HOLOGRAPHIC!!!  I had no idea!  The promo shots did not do this collection justice, because there are TWO scattered holographic polishes in it!  Mysterious is a light blue glitter in a sheer base that is packed with holographic glitter particles!  It's so glittery!  My nails are seriously mesmerizing today!  The polish is a bit sheer so it took me three coats to get virtually opaque, but when I do the full review of the collection I'll show you how it builds up.  All in all, I think this polish is awesome!

Day 4 Featuring Wet N Wild Cost Is No Issue

Happy Friday my fellow Lacquered Lovers! I hope you are all gearing up for a lovely November weekend! Today I have Day 4 of my 30 Days of Untrieds challenge! I was feeling like I needed some sparkle in my life so today's polish is another of the Wet N Wild Color Icon Ice Baby collection! So now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above: 3 coats of Cost Is No Issue

This color is BRIGHT! Cost is No Issue is a bright aqua micro glitter in a clear base that has scatterd bright blue, slightly larger glitter throughout. It looks like my nails are glowing! It took three coats in order to get this color opaque, but you could certainly layer it over an aqua or even a white if you want to use less coats! I personally just love that glitter jammed look! As you can see, I have some glitter jumpers on my fingers which is really hard to get off, but I'm sure once I take off my polish tonight they will all disappear! This also requierd two coats of Seche Vite Top Coat in order to get rid of most of the texture and to make the nails shiny because this glitter definitely eats nail polish! See below for a macro shot of Cost is no Issue:

All in all, these glitters are really fun! And for $2.99 each, definitely worth getting if you can find them at a Walgreens! Don't forget to check out the other lovely bloggers doing the challenge as well:

OPI Muppet Collection Part II

Good afternoon my fellow Lacquered Lovers! I hope wherever you are reading this from that you are having better than I'm having in NYC! Cold and rainy day here, however looking at these swatches instantly put me in a better mood! Today I have the three non-glitters that I bought from the Muppet Collection and I have to say, I think I like these even better than the glitters! So now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above: 2 coats of Meep-Meep-Meep

Above: Macro shot of Meep-Meep-Meep

Ah, Meep-Meep-Meep. I wasn't planning on liking this color until I saw swatches and found out it was a glass fleck! I love glass flecks! Even pink glass flecks! The base is kind of like a more opaque jelly if that makes sense, I say that because after two coats there is almost no visible nail line! The glass flecks are gold and some have a slightly lighter pink tint that gives this polish incredible depth. This is definitely a polish I bought for the name but ended up really loving it! It's very pigmented and perfect for any pink lover!

Above: 3 coats of Warm and Fozzie

Above: Macro shot of Warm and Fozzie

I've never been one to love bronze or brown shades, but I find myself really drawn to them this year! So much so that Warm and Fozzie is my second favorite from this collection and not just for the name (which I love!) Warm and Fozzie is a stunning bronze foil with gold, copper and pinkish flecks in it. This color is just insane complex. This polish was very sheer so it took three coats to build up to full opacity, but who cares for this gorgeous shade? It almost has a duochrome quality to it but it's absolutely stunning. This polish is definitely unique in my collection!

Above: 2 coats of Designer,... De Better!

Above: Macro shot of Designer,...De Better

Last and certainly not least (so certainly that I think this is my favorite shade of this collection) is Designer,... De Better. I quickly showed you guys this shade last week as part of my anniversary manicure, but I really didn't do it justice. Designer,... De Better is a silvery foil packed with copper and pinkish particles. It is stunning! It almost looks like a light gold or champagne to the naked eye, but you can really see the particles in the macro shot above. I just love how unique this color is and how it just reminds me of a winter fairy land for some reason! I highly recommend you get this color!

As for the other three colors in this collection, I didn't feel the need to get them because they are all pinks and purples that look familiar. The OPI Muppet Collection is out in stores now and generally retails for $8.00 per bottle. I really enjoyed this collection and look forward to wearing them this winter!

What did you all think of these Muppet Collections polishes? Do you prefer the glitters or the non-glitters? Any dupes?

Essie Winter Collection 2011 Cocktail Bling

Good Afternoon Lacquered Lovers! I hope you all had a lovely October weekend! I spent my weekend doing a TON of swatching and even a few nail art tutorials for Halloween so get excited for this week! First up, I have the Essie Winter 2011 Collection which I was luckily enough to receive at the wonderful Glamour Magazine and Essie Blogger Breakfast I attended on October 11th. So today I am giving you all SIX shades, so get ready for a ton of pictures! Now, without further ado, on to the polish!

Above: 2 coats of Cocktail Bling

Above: Macro shot of Cocktail Bling

First of all, let me say how much I love the name of this polish! Cocktail Bling is just fairly hilarious to me. That being said, this polish is gorgeous! What a perfect grey! I love that all the polishes in this collection are blue-toned and Cocktail Bling is a stunning light grey for those of us with yellow toned skin! It just looks so pretty on! I also love that this is a color that could be worn all year round, not just in the winter time. I have it on my toes right now! The application was perfect, opaque in two coat with no streaks at all! If you are familiar with Essie Chinchilly, this is the more blue version of it.

Above: 2 coats of Bangle Jangle

Above: macro shot of Bangle Jangle

First, let me apologize for the weird bumpy things on my middle fingers in these pictures, it was not from the polish but it shows up in a few pictures before I realized and buffed it out! Now, Bangle Jangle (which reminds me of the bright red Essie color Bungle Jungle in name only) is a really pretty dusty lilac with overtones of blue. Unlike Lilacism, this polish had a great formula! It went on smoothly, no streaks, no patches, just perfect! It seems like an odd addition to a Winter collection to me but I'm always happy to have a new light purple to use! I thought this color was really pretty and by far the best applying light purple that they have put out!

Above: 2 coats of Brooch the Subject

Now I am not a nude nail polish kind of girl, I like my nails to make a statement, but if I were to ever want the "mannequin hands" look, Brooch the Subject would be my go to! This color actually looks like flesh! Like the others, it was perfectly opaque in 2 coats and if you are a nude kind of girl, then this is a polish you should have!

Above: 2 coats of School of Hard Rocks

Above: macro shot of School of Hard Rocks

I am in love with this nail polish. It is perfect! I would not change a thing! School of Hard Rocks is a stunning green based teal cream. It's just so pretty! It's the perfect Fall/Winter color. I can honestly say that in my nail polish hoard, I do not have a dupe for this! Most teal creams are more blue based so to have a more green based one is just gorgeous! Seriously, this is a must have! It has this great dusty quality that seems prevalent in this collection and I just love it!

Above: 2 coats of Size Matter

Above: Macro shot of Size Matters

Ok everyone, insert your own obligatory dirty joke here due to the name. Now when I asked the lovely Essie Weingarten if this name is supposed to be a little dirty and her response is that she was talking about diamonds, not anything that would cause your mind to go to the gutter! Size Matters is a really pretty blue toned red. I'm sure if I tried hard enough I could find a dupe, but I think it's really pretty and if you are looking for a darker red creme polish, then this one is perfect! Great application, highly pigmented, and perfect for a cocktail party this winter!

Above: 2 coats of Bobbing for Baubles

Above: macro shot of Bobbing For Baubles

Last and most certainly not least is Bobbing for Baubles. I want to describe this as almost a blackened Navy! It's not quite as blue as a normal navy would be but also has this black/slate grey quality that makes is really gorgeous. Sorry about the reflection of my apartment building in the macro shot but it shows you how gorgeous and shiny these colors are even without a top coat! This color is great for the winter, very rich and perfectly opaque in 2 coats.

All in all, this is one of the best collections I've seen this year! I love the rich creams and how many of the colors are actually unique! As much as I love crazy polishes, a good, rich cream is just so classic. Essie polishes retail for $8 and I've seen this collection start to pop up at drugstores so make sure you snag them up soon!

What did you all think of this collection? Any must haves? Any dupes?
